Thanks for the email.  I was going to email you late this week, so your email was timely.  As requested, I have attached my report to Council that was presented at the February 10th Council meeting.  I have also attached the associated bylaw & policy mentioned in the report.

 

At this point in time, Council gave the bylaw 3 readings and asked that I prepare a follow-up report prior to Council’s consideration of adopting the bylaw.  Due to time constraints, the report and bylaw are not on the upcoming Feb 24th Council agenda.  I expect to have it on the next available meeting following.

 

I would like your comments and perhaps some of your neighbours respecting the repayment schedule.  As discussed in the report, from the District’s standpoint we would like it as short as possible (1 year is best), whereas property owners would likely prefer a longer repayment.  After some discussion among staff, we recommended a 3-year repayment schedule, with the option to pay it all upfront.

I was just talking to Barb who mentioned you had done a report to council on the parcel tax for Barkley.  I would like to discuss it with you, but first would like to get a copy of the report. Any chance you have it in a format you  can email me? I would like to look it over and will then likely have some questions of clarification for you on it.
